MemberI’m not a caregiver myself, but I can say that my boyfriend and I have both learned so much about communication and truly listening to each other.
During flare-ups, we can both feel anxious, overwhelmed, and a little lost. If we each retreat into our own bubble, he won’t know how to help me, and I can end up feeling frustrated or misunderstood. We’ve had to learn how to communicate what we need, even when emotions are high.
It has taught us a lot about effective communication, patience, and being present for each other without always needing to have a solution.
Thank you for sharing your story—it’s really interesting to hear what caregiving has taught others. ❤️
