How do you advocate for yourself in medical appointments with MG?
Many people with MG struggle to feel heard in medical settings — especially when symptoms fluctuate or don’t show up neatly during an appointment. Advocacy becomes a skill you learn out of necessity, not choice.
For me, I had to learn how to walk into appointments prepared. I learned to not get defensive or apologetic, just clear about my needs. I track patterns, bring specific examples, and name the things I used to downplay. It took time to realize that being honest about my symptoms wasn’t complaining. It was advocating for my care.
What about you?
What helps you communicate clearly with your care team, especially on days when your symptoms feel invisible?
