  • Considering breast reduction surgery with MG – have you done it?

Let’s talk about something a little more personal. I (Shawna) am considering breast reduction surgery, and myasthenia gravis (MG) is a big factor in that decision. The added weight on my chest makes breathing harder on flare days, and the fatigue from carrying it all around doesn’t help either. Bras? Don’t get me started—they’re uncomfortable at best and impossible to wear during a flare.

But surgery with MG brings up all kinds of concerns. Anesthesia. Recovery time. Muscle strength.

Have you had breast reduction surgery while managing MG? Was it worth it for you? How did you prepare, and what did recovery look like?

If you haven’t had it but have considered it, what questions or fears are holding you back? Let’s create a space to talk about the real stuff here—comfort, body image, breathing, bras, and MG.
