Deleted UserI can definitely relate to the frustration of trying to figure out whether the pain is coming from MG itself or from a separate spine issue. It seems like a lot of people end up dealing with more than one condition at the same time, which makes it difficult to know what’s causing what. My neurologist also explained that while MG can weaken the muscles that support your back and core, structural problems like disc degeneration or spinal stenosis can exist alongside it, so it’s worth looking at both possibilities.
I was reading about degenerative disc disease recently because it runs in my family, and I found this article helpful for understanding how genetics and lifestyle both contribute: https://spinedocs.org/is-degenerative-disc-disease-hereditary/. It doesn’t suggest that everything is hereditary, but it does explain why some people may be more susceptible than others.
