I was 56 when finally diagnosed, and was able to continue my career in aerospace (aircraft manufacturing) another 8 years, before I went out on disability just shy of retirement. Those last few years at work were an increasing struggle to lead people and manage things, juggling schedules, accommodation, flares, but another, overall reason for leaving work in aerospace became the cost of my potential mistakes.
